I'm organising a Rails Camp for October in Margate on the 16th until
the 19th, being a Ruby User group I thought you might be interested in
attending? Its basically a weekend of hacking around in Ruby/Rails
with lots of beer and like minded people. The last one was a great
laugh and very productive.

Ah yes, sorry one of the limitations of EventWax, i'll update that page. 3 nights including food/accommodation is £50. 2 nights including food/accommodation is £40
And some 1 day drop in tickets will be released closer to the event.

OMG, just checked on thetrainline.com and that's FIVE HOURS from Sheffield! It'd be a 5 day event if I went! Edinburgh is closer! Like the idea but not sure I could stand that much travelling for it...
For what it's worth (though obviously I'm biased) we had people coming
from Germany, Spain and Poland last time around, and I think some will
make the trek again. I'm expecting a fantastic long-weekend, and I'm
happy to set aside five days for it.

Maybe I should give it more thought then... It's in my calendar as a reminder.
Obviously I'm biased too, but will be travelling for at least 3 hours to get
there, and the last one convinced me it is worth it. Meeting like minded
hackers is a great experience both for learning and entertainment. Besides,
living in Sheffield how often do you get to go to the Seaside?? :)

Well, that's more than one person saying it's good. Why is it in such a remote location though? There are plenty of places on the coast that are more accessible! Ironically, I'd think of it as less of a barrier if I _was_ coming from somewhere in Europe.

The remote location is part of the plan of Rails Camps, admitedly this isn't
quite as remote as the last one, but the other issue is price. Finding a
venue that can hold a large group and provide accommodation (and food!) for
this sort of price is hard to do, although admittedly I was keeping it in
the South East as I know there is a large Ruby Community down this way so
that's my bad on not enough research perhaps! Duly noted for the next one!
Still, I do hope you'll consider attending, I think once the journey is done
you'll really enjoy yourself!
