Dear Admins,

Request for Discussion - UDP against Newsfeeds.com(Sierra Corporate
Design)

Since 2-27-2005,I have been sending in complaints regarding the Kiddy
Porn spammer "savagebabes.com", "dangerousteens.com", and
"sweettiny.com". As of this date, nothing has been done to stem the
flow of this abuse, Newsfeeds seems unwilling to stop this ongoing
abuse.

Copy of reports sent to Newsfeeds can be viewed here:

http://groups-beta.google.com/groups?q=odi91r4q&start=0&scoring=d&

Please note that the two account numbers listed in the headers:

X-Proxy-User: $$odi91r4q
X-Proxy-User: $$kbm8p6tdn

I received Email notice on 3-31-2005 from Newsfeeds that the
offending posting account had been terminated, but alas that turns
out to be false.(copy below)

If David Ritz is reading this thread, would you be willing to help
out in getting the ball rolling on a UDP?

I believe that nothing will be done unless pressure is applied from
several sources in the internet community.

Respectfully submitted,

Richard Leslie

The flood of teen spammers started already in early summer 2004.
Since then I've tried all possible things to get rid of them. In Vain!

These spammers are doing also NSP hopping - but newsfeeds.com
seems to be really one of the spam heavens (beside nntpserver.com).

I would support a UDP on Newsfeeds strongly.
We really need a serious signal to the commercial NSPs
who are taking their income nowadays more seriously than
complaints about such teen/kiddie porn spam activities.

If it is true (what I was told) that these spammers are opening new accounts
with credit cards faster than NSPs can close them - then we've got a problem
which is still searching for a solution.

Not really, just a problem whose solutions no commercial NSP is willing
to acknowledge as necessary, much less actually do:

1. Stop offering instant sign-up systems, and really vet all new
accounts.
2. Don't peer *at all* with any NSP that has this 'insoluble' problem.

Of course, no binary-focused NSP is going to take either of those steps
unilaterally, and for all of them to join in doing them at the same time
would probably break some anti-trust laws in some places.

This argues for the ancient view that the whole endeavor of unmoderated
distribution of binaries and particularly porn via news is a bad idea
doomed to failure.
