This discussion group has been set up to allow members of the London Mathematical Society and the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications to comment on the proposal from the Councils of the two societies that a new single society should be formed replacing both societies.  At their meetings in autumn 2008, both Councils commended the proposal to their members. Voting is now under way.

Members may make their views known either by writing to one of the Presidents, emailing one of the societies or contributing to the Discussion Forum.  For comprehensive details please see www.newmathsoc.org.uk
