Cannot access database from addon

Dear All,
I face a problem with establishing a connection to MySQL from add-on,
im accessing the database as follows:
In the addon there is a button so when i press it, a javascript
function is called.
after that using a XPCOM component to get the object of a java class,

Hi Ana,
What we would like here is the following:
If you could allow the user to tab into the headers probably one tab
stop before the message list would be great.
When the user has tabbed to the headers they should be able to right and
left arrow between them and press enter or space to perform the allowed

Prior to yesterday it was correct because major accessible table
patches were landed on Gecko 1.9.3 only (thunderbird uses xul:tree
which is exposed as accessible table to AT). But yesterday all these
patches were landed on Gecko 1.9.2. So latest thunderbird based on
this version of Gecko should be great for testing I think.

I'm also wondering specifically about getting to some actions that are
available by clicking on the header. For example, what if clicking on
the header resorts the mail grid, or if clicking on a checkbox selects
all messages.

Hi Ana,
Right the column headers in the message list pane of Thunderbird do not
follow this style guide suggestion. Instead Thunderbird provides access
to the mouse+header functions in the "View" menu (at least in
Thunderbird 3 beta, I can't confirm Thunderbird 2).
That said, if you can make a compelling case for adding direct keyboard

Hi Ana, normally the screen reader user doesn't want to move into the
header the behavior they expect is as follows:
The user should be able to left and right arrow between the cells in the
table. When he/she does this the screen reader will look at the header
above the cell with focus to determine which column has focus.

By which, you mean Thunderbird trunk? In terms of Thunderbird
accessibility, why use trunk/Gecko 1.9.3? (Note, it is not clear what
version of Gecko will be used for what is being referred to as TB 3.next
- it might be 1.9.2, 1.9.3, or something else unforseen)

I assume you talk about Firefox. I think you should try trunk version
of Firefox 3.7 ([link]
nightly/). There is couple of improvements there (especially it
concerns to accessible tables) which aren't presented in other version
of firefox and probably they won't be. I would guess release version

Howdy folks,
Maybe Jamie or someone can tell me which t-bird beta to try for best
results with screenreaders..., or should I wait a few weeks for the
official release? Not scared of betas, but the release is close is it not?
