  We want to set up a Windows XP Pro computer as a music server. We copied a &lt;br&gt; bunch of MP3s, and if we log in locally to the computer, we can play music. &lt;br&gt; Here&#39;s the problem: We want to be able to remote into that computer using &lt;br&gt; Remote Desktop over the network, and control the playback through the &lt;br&gt; speakers connected to the laptop. For some reason though, Media Player can&#39;t

  Hi, &lt;br&gt; My problem about remote desktop web access &lt;br&gt; Circumstances:: &lt;br&gt; Small 2003 domain with one Domain controller and remote desktop configured &lt;br&gt; for server, with access remotely from above thought 3389 port. &lt;br&gt; Fixed LAN ip 192.168.5.221 &lt;br&gt; It works fine through remote desktop connection from LAN and above. &lt;br&gt; One of desktops with WinXp SP3 configured with remote desktop web access

It allows traffic that is not destined &lt;br&gt; to the remote network to go from the VPN client directly to the &lt;br&gt; non-VPN sites without having to go through the VPN tunnel first.

  Paul, &lt;br&gt; I had the same problem and it was driving me nuts! Here is the fix I found &lt;br&gt; on another board. &lt;br&gt; To fix the problem I opened the properties for the VPN connection on the &lt;br&gt; client -&amp;gt; Networking -&amp;gt; TCP/IP (Properties) -&amp;gt; Advanced -&amp;gt; and unchecked &amp;quot;Use &lt;br&gt; default gateway on remote network&amp;quot;.   For whatever reason I&#39;ve never nailed down a GOOD stratigy for dealing with &lt;br&gt; laptops that are on and off the network... &lt;br&gt; Part 1: &lt;br&gt; The Offline Files utility in XP seems to have various issues that I can&#39;t &lt;br&gt; find any resolution for. &lt;br&gt; Mainly that laptops disconnect from the network for no apparent reason.
