You may need to ask someone in a network newsgroup. If the application
monitoring SNMP does not use the spooler, you can disable SNMP on the ports.

Try safe mode. Deleting may not be the answer, uninstalling them might work
better.

Logical printers on Server 2003 showed off line immediately after hardening
the network. XP PCs work just fine.
Disabling the SNMP on the port configuration of the driver is not an option
because the driver is setup to print to a queue and certain application need
the SNMP to monitor the print jobs.

Resolved! This behavior is controlled by "X-Mouse" where the focus on mouse
movement follows the mouse in its movement. Turned that off (using TweakUI)
and all is normal. So this really wasn't a Printer Wizard problem at all.
I'd subsequently determined that the behavior wasn't just with PPW. Thanks

Hi. Have XP Pro SP3, AMD 3200 proc, large disk, 1 gig RAM. Plenty of

Default Printer Font

For years, I used Windows 2000 to print to my old reliable HP LaserJet 5. A
report I print is sent from Notepad as a text document, so there are no printer
properties or commands sent with the document to the printer.
The font used on the printer when I print from that computer is Courier (sarif).

Unfortunately, you did not really give enough information to fully identify
your exact problem.
How did you attempt to uninstall the old printer drivers?
Windows uninstall or the printer uninstall from the OEM (If it exists)?
Have you tried ti uninstall while in "Safe" mode?
Have you looked to see if the OEM offers a "cleanup" utility on it's web

I have a couple of defunct printers on my XP system. When I try to delete
them, Windows refuses. Says it is 'deleting - off-line" but nothing further
happens. I tried refreshing the Printer spooler but that didn't help. The
current printer is correctly installed and working.

This problem can be particularly annoying because it can be the result of a
hardware problem in the printer, or a software driver problem.
Since you replaced the black cartridge, have you tried to use any of the
printers diagnostics (in the driver options,) or perhaps any diagnostics
built in the printer?
