How do I import my contact list from my gmail account?

The basic procedure is the same for all mail services.
Export your contacts from Gmail using the CSV format.
Import that CSV file into Windows Mail.

How do I import my contacts (many) from another computer also Windows but XP??

That would depend on which email program you are using on the XP computer.
Or is it Gmail webmail?
