Subject: folder permissions and directory listing
I have an issue that i am stck on. I have a file share and several
hundered directories under the share. My user community is complaining
that the list is too long to sort through, and I do not want to
seperate each folder into its own share or mapping (not enough letters
inthe alphabet). what I am wanting to do is this...
give all users the ability to connect to the share and have only those
directories that they have permissions to show up. Basicly think of
this like a home directory scenerio. I share a folder that has
hundreds of sub- folders. All users map to the share and all i want
user1 to see is the user1 directory. User2 mapps to the same share and
only sees the user2 folder.

Is this even possible in NTFS permissions?
Thanks...

It's unclear from your post which server you use. If you use Windows Server
2003 then you can use Access-Based Enumeration to hide folders selectively:
