Media Center does upscaling?

I'm thinking of building a Media Center PC, based on Windows 7. I want it
to replace all my existing boxes.
Will Media Center do upscaling of normal DVDs when playing to an HD
television?
I ask because most Blueray players will upscale normal DVDs, and it's a
facility I'd like.

quickly located some free software, CDex, that does the necessary file

I have had the same problem with windows 7 media centre. there is no data
for BBC1 East midlands in the guide and when media centre detects the
channel, it displays it as unknown, there is only bbc1 midlands on the list

Assuming that what I propose is legal - that is, I own a talking book in CD
format - I would like to copy it to an MP3 player. I am new both to WMC and
MP3 players and have only read sections of the manuals.

A little while ago i noticed Internet TV Beta 2 in Windows Media Center in
Windows 7, but yesterday i notices that this has vanished but replaced with
Sky Player intead.
I have checked all over the internet for help regarding this and some say it
could be in Etras others day in TV but it's not in either location.

Problem solved. For me the trick was to "Delete all
Services" (within "Settings" > "TV" > "Scan for New
Services") before rescanning. After that I had to
re-download the Guide and change the channel order
back to what I wanted.

Dual DVB-T tuner, My Media Centre is configured
to use the (UK London) Crystal Palace transmitter.
Since retuning on 30 September, and again today,

Problem with viewing High Def TV

Hi!
TVPack 2008 problem viewing BBC HD
MCE displays the channel as a Digital Service i.e. Blue screen with sound.
An alternative player (Digital Everywhere's FireDTV viewer) displays the HD
picture in 4:3 aspect. I have been scratching my head for weeks on this on,
any ideas would be most welcome. SimonW

I haven't seen an HCL, but the BlackGold cards work in Win7 for UK Freeview,
even the older single tuner PCI ones. The later ones are dual tuner and have
64 bit support.

Did you ever get this resolved?
I have the same issue with a very large music library. Media PLayer will
load up in seconds but Media Center can take 2-3 minutes to respond when
first selecting music library after start up.
