Bob I found the solution... well, I used up some of our corporate support time We can change the default 5 minute countdown for reboot of the client Stop SMS Executive and Site Component Manager Their above answer was a little brief... the file you're looking for is in PROPERTY <Reboot Countdown><REG_DWORD><><15> As MS said, the <Reboot Countdown> is a counter in minutes... my example Please note these alterations are undocumented and unsupported... Microsoft I hope this answers your origional question... :) Mayday > Cheers, > Bob > "Mayday175" wrote: > > Bob > > I have the same situation.... packages have been tested ok and need to be > > Thanks > > "Bob Findlay" wrote: > > > Lars > > > I really need to persuade sms to be sensible. 5 mins it ludicrous. > > > Bob > > > "Lars Norman Søndergaard" wrote: > > > > Hi Bob, > > > > What about changing your package to run shutdown.exe -t no-secs and in SMS > > > > A number of shutdown programs exists - so find the one you like... > > > > You could also start the with prompting the user "App xyz will be installed. > > > > Thanks > > > > "Bob Findlay" <BobFind...@discussions.microsoft.com> skrev i en meddelelse > > > > > Cheers, > > > > > Bob
with Microsoft Support and they provided me with a solution. Their response
was:
computer by editing the Sitectrl.ct0 file.
Change the value listed below to represent how long (in minutes) you want
them to show (in Sitectrl.ct0 file)
PROPERTY <Reboot Countdown><REG_DWORD><><5>
Restart SMS Executive and Site Component Manger
x:\SMS\inboxes\sitectrl.box. Fields of particular intrest are:
PROPERTY <Reboot Logoff Notification><REG_DWORD><><1>
PROPERTY <Reboot Logoff Notification Final Window><REG_DWORD><><300>
above is for 15 minutes and has tested so just fine. I believe <Reboot Logoff
Notification> is a binary field where a value of 1 or 0 enables or disables
the final warning/countdown window (the user cannot close this window or stop
the countdown). The value <Reboot Logoff Notification Final Window> shows
this final warning/countdown window for the number of seconds specified
before forcing the PC to reboot. My example above of <300> shows that final
window for 5 minutes and has tested ok in out test environment.
Support made this very clear when providing their above solution to me.
