Subject: Trying to deploy XP using Deployment Feature Pack
Hi,

I've been trying to deploy XP to 18 identical laptops (HP 6930).  I created
the capture disk thru SMS.  Insert it into the laptop which runs sysprep but
then when booting again into Windows PE i get the BSOD.  All the research on
this seems to point to the mass storage drivers not loading.  I then tried to
create a sysprep.ini which included the mass storage section.  No luck. I
then recreated the capture disk in SMS but this time pointing to a network
location for the storage drivers. Not sure if I'm right here, but I put the
txtsetup.oem in this location and ran it again.  I know get an error that
says 'The file \i386\system32\MassStorageDrivers\iaAHCI_ESB2\iaSTOR.sys could
not be.' (I imagine 'found' but this is missing off the screen!!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is starting to drive me nuts!!

Thanks

I personally have never used the Deployment Feature Pack in SMS2003, but have
used OSD in Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 (the next version of SMS).  This
is no doubt straying off topic, but have you considered upgrading to the next
version?

Alternatively, hmm... http://www.deployvista.com is I think a good resource
for OS deployment issues.
