I have the same exact problem in Vista 64 bit. It appeared in the latest
update.
I would really appreciate Microsoft addressing this problem.

I can’t say for sure about your error, but I've seen some instances of
Microsoft XML report viewers where if you just let it sit after such an
error, the report may, in fact, appear after some minutes--it's worth trying
that out if you haven't given it a chance.

Administrator rights is a requirement to run MBSA. This is listed in the
MBSA help file and the MBSA home page. There is no workaround for this.
The script will need to be run using Administrator rights in order for MBSA
to run.

Hi Walter,
Please note that I have the same problem with Windows XP (SP3)
MBSA 2.1.1 with exactly same error.
Some reports run alone worked ok. But the first one about Windows Admin
Security isn't working at all.
I hope someone answers our problem.

Hello,
After installing WSUS 3.0 I cannot scan computers with MBSA 2.1. Only the
computers that have not been configured to use the WSUS server are scannable.
There are not any firewalls on the clients.
What are some things I can check or try? I have searched everyehere.

The FAQ tells you where to download the files from. There should be 4 in
total which you'll put into the 2.1\Cache route - the other 2 files are
indicated when you open the xml file in Notepad.

wsusscn2.cab file - hard to get a new one???

I have the 2.1 version of MBSA. It has been a a few months since I ran this
- and it was time to check on my servers.
I tried running it on a server that I knew would get the new wsusscn2.cab
file for checking windows updates. But it failed.
