Subject: MBSA 2.1 and Wnidows Server 2008 R2
When attempting to do a local scan of a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 using MBSA
2.1 x64, MBSA reports "This is not a Windows NT/2000/2003 Server or
Workstation."

Is there is differnet MBSA for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64?

A new version of MBSA will be released in the coming weeks to provide
support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.  Please feel free to
review the MBSA 2.1 home page (www.microsoft.com/mbsa) in the coming weeks
and this newsgroup for the announcement.

I hope the new MBSA will be out very soon after (or before) the 10/22/2009
official launch of Windows 7 / 2008 R2.  I assume the new version will be
announced via multiple channels such as weekly download summary newsletter,
TechNet newsletters, and the MSRC Blog.  With the huge amount of updates
this month (happy cyber security month indeed :) being able to scan all
supported OS's from Windows 2000 - 2008 will be welcomed.
