Wow, I don't know. I can tell you that I can insert MP3 and WAV files just
fine here on 32-bit Win 7 with 32-bit Office 2010. (I have 2003 also
installed on this system.) I haven't noticed any others reporting issues
with MP3s and WAVs.
I'll ask on the beta goups if there are any known issues with sound files.

Cannot insert mp3 or wave. Turned off my Virus program and Zone Alarm,
still no go.
The program hangs (Presentation1 - Microsoft PowerPoint (program not
responding)
Then it sends the error to Microsoft ? If I had a way to copy the error
report it I would include it.
I have tried a lot of different mp3 files they all do the same.

Thanks. If you wonder why I need to move the design template positions. I
first insert a design that is used only for the coverpage ( first slide) and
2-3 following slides, then for all other sidles( starting at slide 4) I
need a second design. I apply the new template (ApplyTemplate () ) to slide

Thanks Steve. I am afraid you are correct and there is no simple way to do
what I want, but I had been led to believe from researching this that it may
be possible to interact with the cells in a table as a ShapeRange. I even
found a couple of examples, but couldn't get them to work.
The code I've tried looks like this:
