Subject: Can Exchange Server Sync be broken?
OK, so I've been using my Cingular 2125 (WM5 Smartphone) for about a month,
synching it to my company's Exchange Server 2003 for Email, Calendar,
Contacts and Tasks.

Sometime during the week last week, I suspect that changes have been made
to the Exchange Server, as I am now not able to RECEIVE any changes to any
of those services. I can SEND updates to the server, but nothing comes back
down to the device.

Nothing was changed on my SmartPhone during this time. I installed no new
software on my phone. I get NO ERRORS when synching to the server - just
that nothing comes down, after a month of working great!

Has anyone experienced this? Anyone have any suggestions? I can't really go
to my server adminstrators with this problem, as its not a "supported
service" yet. But if I KNOW what the issue is, I can maybe get a
resolution.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes I have the same problem! When I active sync it says 88/88 messages
received, and 44/44 contacts and sync is successful. But when I go to
look at the messages my email is empty, and the contact list is blank.
Sending works fine though. I have the problem with smartphones and
pocket pcs. I mailed my administrator so we'll see what they say....

Some problem here.  Cingular 8125 with AKU2, Exchange 2003 SP2.  It
connects, shows that it's syncing contacts, email, tasks, calendar but
my contacts are empty, no email, no meetings, etc.

I can send email fine and I can look up contacts in the GAL by doing
Find Online in contacts.

Very strange...

In my case there was a configuration change needed to ScanMail (Trend
Micro's AV for Exchange).

See here:
http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-125607...

After this change was made, we disabled AV scanning on my mailbox for
the inital sync.  Since it has to push a lot of data, this was
recommeneded.  After the first sync, AV scanning was re-enabled and
everything works great!
