Hi Aaron,

VME is only compatible with AVI files and will not work with DVD files such
as IFO or VOB. You can use an application like CloneDVD to make an AVI file
from a DVD. Then you can use VME to play it on your extender.

The version of Windows Media Encoder is Vsn. 9.00.00.2980
The profile I selected is VME Medium Bandwidth NTSC
The Video File format is VTS_01_0.IF0

Also, I installed the 32 bit vsn. of VME, the information you
supplied.

Hi,

Just because you have a 64bit processor does not mean you are running 64bit.
You must also have a 64bit operating system installed as well which Windows
Media Center Ed is not.

Therefore the 32 bit version of VME is the correct one.

Dear Gary: I have an HP m7640n Media Center XP computer. The cpu
processor is an Athlon 64x2 w500t 2 ghz.
I believe the version of VME that I should install is the VME 1.2 64
bit (x64) version. If this is not the correct version,
please advise.

Hi,

Basically the VME Manager Application is what does all the hard work with
the encoding and streaming. This always needs to be running. The VME Media
Center application is just a user interface to control the VME Manager
Application on the PC.

I have no idea what a DRM Profile is. What version of Windows Media Encoder

Dear Gary: A basic question. In the instruction guide for VME there
is an initial section on VME MANAGER APPLICATION, which I suppose is
for encoding a movie when at the computer.. Later on in the guide
are instructions for using the VME Media Center which I suppose is for
encoding using the remote control at the TV with the Linksys Media
