Subject: correct vme version?
Dear Gary:  I have an HP m7640n Media Center XP computer.  The cpu
processor is an Athlon 64x2 w500t 2 ghz.
I believe the version of VME that I should install is the VME 1.2 64
bit (x64) version.   If this is not the correct version,
please advise.

In any event, to make sure I have the correct version, I un-installed
the VME that was installed and just attempted to install the
VME 1.2   64 bit (x64) version.  When attempting to setup, I receive
an error message

"vme setup x64 not supported by this processor type".

Am I installing the correct vme version or not?

Best, Aaron

Hi,

Just because you have a 64bit processor does not mean you are running 64bit.
You must also have a 64bit operating system installed as well which Windows
Media Center Ed is not.

Therefore the 32 bit version of VME is the correct one.

Thanks,
Gary
