Subject: iis6 port binding problem
I need to use port 80 on a second ip for something else, but iis is
hogging it. I can get IIS to stop binding to that ip using httpcfg but
the problem is i still need it to bind to port 443. There just doesnt
seem to be a way to do it.

hi,

did you delete the ip address?  are you able to instead re-assign 80 to 81
and that should keep 443 open?

paul.

if you remove all the "all ip" bindings and set them to a specific ip,
iis still binds to port 80 on the other ip by default, the only way to
stop that is to list IPs with httpcfg. If I just list my primary ip,
then I can't get the ssl host to bind to the other ip, it's in the
bindings list but the host won't start, just throws "The network
location cannot be reached. For information about network
troubleshooting, see Windows Help"
