Trying to trace Dylys Sileen(Syleen) Jones. Her father Thomas Jones
was living in Ramsgate at the time of her marriage to Raymond Basil
Mills. His occupation was miner. A family member recalls that he had
originally come from S Wales. Raymond Basil Mills was an army
serviceman at the time.

Does anyone remember my father he worked at Betteshanger soon after
the war ended he was origionally from Fife in Scotland & had worked in
the mines there before the war.

Does anyone have any information about my Father and Granfather , they
are both called Stephen West and both worked at the Tilmanstone mine
and lived in Elvington.I had an Uncle called Douglas and an Aunt

dad,John Caddick, The john caddick you mentioned was his uncle who he
was named after. My grandad was george Caddick. his parents were
William john adrian caddick and edith may mokes. they also had a son
William and Tom and a daughter Molly ?I know their father was killed

I'm looking for any Brewer's from Elvington.
Charles Edward Douglas Brewer, married to Amy Kathleen Brewer, lived
at 30 Adelaide Road, Elvington in 1941.
Their son, Charles Edward Douglas Brewer (b. abt 1917) was a coal
miner, and stoker for the Royal Navy. He married Mary Brodie Martin
(b. 21.06.1916 Glasgow) on 20.09.1941 at Cunninghame Halls, Glasgow.

working or closure of his own pit in Lancs. He may have come down to
be with others from his area who had made the move. Depending on his
situation, he may have been sent by the dole or its possible that he

My father thomas palmer, went to deal in the 1930s as a miner from leigh lancs.Think it was cos of the depression , thats about all i know, he came back to leigh after.I would LOVE to know more.!!
