The CHIK project team hope you have enjoyed viewing our site. We hope
that the Miners Reunited site will allow those originally associated
with the Kent pits to contact each other and our community groups. I
was the oral historian for the project - the best job in the world!
Other snippets of oral history will appear on the site over the next
few months. I would enjoy hearing from anyone who has any comments
about the recordings.

My great-grandfather and grandfather were Chislet miners. My
grandfather was Frank Sharp and he and his brothers Ernie and Jack
worked at Chislet until it closed. Im really pleased to have had the
opportunity to help record the experiences of the miners of Kent. There
is still so much more out there I know so, if anyone has photos they
would be willing to lend to the community groups please get in contact
with them.
