The Hebridean Marathons group has been set up to exchange information and allow discussion on a one-off opportunity in the world of Marathon running. For the first and last time (who said "Never say never!"? Not the organisers!), there is a chance to run either one or both of the two marathons being held within three days on the beatiful islands of the Outer Hebrides of the North West Coast of Scotland! The first race takes place on the Isle of Lewis - The Point1 Callanish Stones Marathon (Saturday 24th May 2008). It's route begins at the Callanish Stones and finishes in Stornoway. Two days later the North Harris Trust Marathon on the Isle of Harris begins at the historic Amhuinnsuidhe Castle and ends in the islands main town - Tarbert.

The Bank of Scotland Stornoway half marathon is also being held on the 24th May 2008

For those of you who feel two marathons in two days is too why not try the marathon and a half option or even just the half!
