Subject: Tips and Guidelines for Using This Group.
To keep the discussions tidy and easy to follow, please try to follow
these guidelines when posting.

Keeping it Tidy
When replying to a message, please delete the text that you are
replying to before you start typing. This way just your message
appears in the post and the previous post isn't duplicated (and
duplicated and duplicated . . . )

Please Don't Change the Title of a Thread.
If you want to start a new thread do the following:

Email users should begin a new thread with a new subject line. Please
don't hit reply to a message and change the subject line because this
won't start a new thread, it will just add your post to the thread you
are replying to but change the subject of the whole thread, which
makes things very confusing for everyone.

Web users, please don't click on the Edit Subject link in the reply
dialogue in order to start a new post. Instead click on the big
'Discussions' link on the right and then click on the '+ new post'
link.

Floods of Email Messages
If you're getting all the messages on the Group by email and you don't
want them, go into the forum and on right side of message screen there
is
option to edit membership, you can stop the emails from there.
I've also uploaded a picture called noemails.png which shows how to
stop
them. Click on the files link to see it.

Web or email?
Personally I think it's better to communicate with the Group in a web
browser – but it's personal preference.

Posting Pictures
You're welcome (encouraged) to post pictures to the Group. You do this
by clicking the files link on the right of the page and then '+upload
new file' link or button.  Name your picture before you upload it.
Then hit the 'Choose File' button on the left and navigate to the file
on your computer and your done. As a rule of thumb, try to keep image
size down to 1Mb or less (if you can).

Email Addresses in Posts
Google shortens email address that you add to posts as an anti-
spamming measure. So when your post appears the email address you
typed will look like it's been altered. To see the full address you
need to click on the link on the underline (below the dots) and go
through the security process to see the email in full.

New Members
Because we used to get undesirable stuff posted from time to time, we
had to ask new members to be approved before they can join. When you
first apply I get a message asking whether or not you are allowed. I
try to approve these as quickly as possible but there is always a
short delay. Apologies but this became necessary.

Thanks

Bob.
