Oxygen/Nitrox charges and FAQ

Oxygen:  2009 rates and FAQ

I charge extra for oxygen depending on usage for the week at a rate of 1.6pence per litre. At this rate a 32% in a 12l cylinder would cost £6.15, for example.

To work out the cost use the following formula:

(amount of O2 in bar) x (cylinder size) x (cost per litre of O2) = cost of a fill

    for the 32pc quoted above

        32bar x 12litre x 1.6p = £6.15

Oxygen amounts are as follows, you will know your cylinder own sizes.

  • 21pc = 0 bar
  • 28pc = 21bar
  • 30pc = 28bar
  • 32pc = 32bar
  • 40pc = 45bar
  • 50pc = 84bar
  • 80pc = 176bar
Twinsets are charged at capacity: ie twin 12ls are in effect a 24l cylinder.

I keep a tally of the amount of oxygen usage during the week and bill you at the end of your stay.

I do not do nitrox top ups (you will always be charged for the whole fill despite potentially having a remnant of a mix in you cylinders).

In a day I generally recommend having a fill, then an air top to get a poor man's nitrox fill for the next dive to achieve an optimum balance between cost and safety. However the final decision of what to have in your bottles rests with you.

Air fills are included in the charter price.

For the purposes of O2 cleaning all air on the boat is 21pc nitrox. In other words it is double filtered for use in nitrox clean equipment without fear of contamination.

All my cylinders are O2 clean.
