Subject: Posting messages..
When a member posts a message via email, it would be nice if Google
Groups would send a copy of that message back to them in the same way
that it is received by all the other group members.  This allows
better message management and tracking to the person who posts the
message.

Hello,

As far as I know, the situation is:
- every group member with a Google (group) account with any kind of
mail server can post to group from the group web interface, and
receive his own message, provided his personal mail settings are on
Email
- group members using a Gmail address can post via email, but even if
on Email setting they won't receive a copy. The sent message is
already in Sent mails folder, and the whole conversation will move in
Inbox in case of replies. It's a Gmail - Google groups feature,
probably for avoiding duplicated conversations, one originating from
the message in Sent mails, the other supposedly originating from an
hypothetical copy in Inbox.
- hard to say what can happen with non-Gmail addresses. It can depends
on the way a mail server is managing that matter.........

Consider also that YOU - and me, if that's matter - would be happy to
have always a copy in Inbox, at least as a confirmation of a
successful posting, but there have been members of this help group -
with non Gmail address - complaining about the reception of a copy of
their own messages!

Regards
Aldo

Definitely!  Not receiving a copy of your own posts has been a pain
for ages.  I use GMail collected via POP for Yahoo groups and i don't
get a copy back either!  Having to log on and check my "sent mail" to
see my side of the conversation is ridiculous.
