You can get a remote registry editor from:
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/mobileregistryeditor.shtml

It works with Cingular 3125 which is yet another  rebranded  HTC
smartphone.
Neither Microsoft nor Google made it easy and they supposedly hire
only very smart people - dorks.
