Subject: Outlook addin disappears without enhanced content indexing
I'm running windows 7 home premium 64-bit & microsoft office 2003
professional

I've had an issue where the google desktop plugin for outlook was not
showing up and for the life of me i couldn't figure out why. Finally,
I stumbled upon the answer, but I don't know why it is set up this
way...

When I go to google desktop options, and check the box for "enable
enhanced content indexing", and then restart outlook, the plugin
searchbox shows up (also when right clicking on the google search icon
in the taskbar, the menu now shows a link for index status & a few
other items).

My question is why do i have to enable enhanced content indexing for
the plugin to showup in outlook?

Hi,

When you install Google Desktop. The Outlook add-in should be
installed and enabled automatically when you install Google Desktop.
Problem can be that the Outlook is open. And i think when you click on
'content indexing' the add-in is be refresh. (add in the outlook).

Add-in for Outlook isn't listed
