I'm trying to find the tile of a series of books I read as a kid in
the 1970s.

They were fore-runners of graphic novels in which the reader chose the
path the hero would take on each page -- in the style of the Choose
Your Adventure series that came later -- then flip to the right page
for that option.

Classic British comics in the Guardian this week

Don't forget that if your library holds the Guardian (or yesterday's
Observer) to nab the rather nice reproductions of British comics
before somebody else does. Yesterday's was the 2000th Beano from 1981
and today's the "Roy Shot" issue of Roy of the Rovers.

We've got the Dandy and Bunty to come apparently.

 Hi all,

I'm curious as to your opinions of a senior high school pupil choosing
'Watchmen' as their Higher English Personal Study text.

It is likely that the pupil would have a tougher job than his peers as
he would be investigating visuals as well as text, but I think
'Watchmen' is has so much to recommend it.

 Hi,

What's in your hot little hands? I've been finishing off my Hellboy
and B.P.R.D. collections, and re-reading those. I just keep reading
and re-reading The Goon, can't get enough of it. I've had another
crack at the Preacher... It's not bad, but I far prefer other Ennis
titles. He seems to be finding his style, still, in the early volumes.

Ooops! Sorry been reading my mail out of order. Thanks to Mark and Mel
too.

Some interesting ones here. I'd be intrigued to find out what Mel's
handle is so if you feel like sharing...

I recently joined a wargaming club (something I've been into and out of
for years) who have a forum to arrange games ahead of time. It's filled

 Apologies about the cross posting

Hi everyone,

I am preparing a presentation that is in part about young people and
online identities.

I really need some examples for how young people present themselves on
the internet; emails, MSN handles, Gamer tags anything you have.

Obviously I only need the bit before the @ and if you want to change

 Hello,

My name is Jon Shanks and I am currently embarking on the dissertation
portion of my Information & Library Management MA. For this, I am
hoping to question a number of librarians responsible for managing
graphic novel collections. In particular, my tutor has impressed upon
me the need for quantitative data (e.g. usage statistics) which I

Sorry if this is too late but there might be some poor souls like me
who are at work today or who just really like checking their email.

Tokyopop will be releasing scanned copies of the Tarot Cafe on their
website between now and September. The current first edition is
currently live but comes down sometime tomorrow. If you miss that
