Subject: Graphic Novels Research
Dear All,

Angela got in touch with me and told me about this discussion group.
I'm pleased to be invited to join in and hope that you might be
interested in what I am doing. (Apologies for any cross posting via
other methods!)

My name is Emiliebeth Arwen Caddy and I am a postgraduate
librarianship student at the University of Sheffield, currently
working on my dissertation. I am currently writing my dissertation on
where to shelve graphic novels, manga, comic books and similar
materials in public libraries, and am looking for participants to
complete an online survey.

The survey is easy to fill in (I hope) and should take no more than
fifteen minutes. The deadline is the 27th of July, which gives you
about ten days to think about it.

The only criteria you need to meet to take part is that you must be
working in a public library. You can be any level of staff and you
library does not have to have any graphic novels in it. I am just as
interested in senior
managers who have no graphic novels as I am in trainee staff who
shelve dozens of them every week!

If you think you are interested then please take a look at the
attached Information Sheet [I can't attach to posts so please contact
me if you have any questions], which contains all of the FAQS and the
ethics information on how your data will be used. If you are still
interested (and I hope you are), then please click on the link below
and fill in the survey:

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and thank you very
much those of you who decide to take part.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch with me, and I
shall be happy to answer them.

Yours faithfully,

Arwen

Hi Beth,

I work for Walker Books, we have recently launched a wide range of
graphic novels, and we'd love to see a copy of your dissertation when
completed, if that would be possible!

Best wishes,

Fiona

Dear Fiona,

Lots of people have asked for my results; I'm thrilled that my work
seems to be catching peoples interest. I will be delighted to let you
have the information when everything is finished and marked. Please
note, this will probably be around the end of the year.

Yours,

Beth Arwen
