RUMOURED COMMUNIST GATHERING IN NEW YORK.

The "Times" American correspondent, writing on the 27th ult., says that rumours were afloat in the beginning of January of a Communist gathering in New York, which taking advantage of the number of unemployed working men, had threatened riotous proceedings. The efforts at destruction, it was whispered, would mainly be directed against the churches, a number of which had been furnished with extra police guards.

It's not still published. Carlisle Record office are rather busy getting
ready to move premisies at the moment. But I do believe that Carlisle
Library has the journal on microfilm. The Local Studies Librarian at

Margaret Potts was born in 1805 at Calvo near Silloth. This is about half an hour from Carlisle.

Her husband has used one on a scout camping trip and said it cooked the turkey beautifully and it isn't at all like greasy and horrible like you would think it would be.

She says they sell the fryers at Home Depot and probably also at Lowe's.
