FOUR-SCHOOL DISCUSSION.
The Parent-Teacher Association of Keswick St. John’s Girls School held a
discussion evening in the Battersby Hall on Tuesday. The Speaker’s Panel was
composed of representatives of four types of school: the Junior School
represented by Mr. J. W. SLEE (Crosthwaite), Secondary Modern, Mr. S. ALLISON,
Lairthwaite, Secondary Grammar, Fr. J. E. THOMPSON, (Keswick School) and
Public School, The Rev. C. E. YOUNG, Vicar of Thornthwaite cum Braithwaite
(retired Headmaster of Rossall).
Sir P. M. HOPE, Chairman of the Governors of Keswick School, conducted the
meeting and Mr. D. H. THOMAS proposed a vote of thanks to the Panel and
the Chairman.
At the close of the lively humorous and informative session light
refreshments were served by the ladies of the P.T.A. meeting.
