That's certainly context alright. People taking pictures of you may
also work for the state. For many people, it is hard to see anything
neutral about someone you don't know taking a picture of you in
public.

Just to put this in context, the woman had worked in Chile during the
disappearances. She made the point that almost every person who
disappeared had previously had their photos published in the media
just before they were snatched.

Errr... let's remember it is in fact "unbelievably good". One person
tried to push an emergency motion, the organisation/conference was
heavily against it. It's a positive thing, a victory, an example of
the NUJ getting it right.

The woman did write an emergency motion to ban photography but it
never saw the light of day luckily. That was after she had terrorised
the students. The guy whose photo was used by Redwatch was really
upset at being blamed for it. It clearly was not his fault that
Redwatch picked up his photo.

It caused a bit of a stink at the time. We did a few stories on it and
the students became the subject of the story when a delegate demanded
the students stop taking photos. One student gave a compelling speech
on the matter, which we blogged live, have on video, tweeted and
reported. The site's search function seems to have picked it up OK.

In China, there are 10,000+ literature websites (sure I've posted
this before, but anyway ...) The most popular of them hosts 800,000
writers, all uploading chapters of their novels, which 4 million
readers then log on and read (on the site or on their mobile phones).
Read the first 10% of a book for free, get the rest for a few pence,

Have you heard of People Per Hour? It's a site where employers post
'projects' that freelancers then pitch for. Lowest bid wins. I'm sure
you could find somebody there willing to do it for £3 per thou.
