I read that Flax can use iFilters so I installed Microsoft's
msxml6.msi & FilterPackx86.exe

But when I run the indexer I get this (I set the logs to DEBUG):

Is there a way to add docx and xlsx to the "format list"

I notice you've managed to solve your immediate problem with OmIndex.
We're planning to add more file format filters in the next release of
Flax Basic, but I'm afraid I don't currently have a date for this.
