I would suggest running a local instance of Flax Basic for each user
and a separate instance on the server; otherwise each local instance
will have to spend time indexing files on the server, or you'd have to
have each user's files accessible from the network which is

I'm evaluating Flax for using as an internal search engine in our

I would like to index files on the server and on users local machines.
How could this be done with flax?

Hi Frank,

I notice you've managed to solve your immediate problem with OmIndex.
We're planning to add more file format filters in the next release of
Flax Basic, but I'm afraid I don't currently have a date for this.

Can't get Flax to index MS 2007 formats

Hi,

I read that Flax can use iFilters so I installed Microsoft's
msxml6.msi & FilterPackx86.exe

But when I run the indexer I get this (I set the logs to DEBUG):
