  I guess you have javascript.options.strict set true. You can test this &lt;br&gt; by either looking at the value in about:config, or in Firebug &amp;gt; &lt;br&gt; Console &amp;gt; mini-menu &amp;gt; Show Strict. &lt;br&gt; Unfortunately this optional feature of Firefox is broken in several &lt;br&gt; ways. Eventually it may be fixed or the new Ecmascript strict option

  I think your analysis is not correct. Firebug does not have such &lt;br&gt; dynamic code that it can &#39;develop&#39; a bug. &lt;br&gt; I guess that Firebug is work just fine, since as you say at the &lt;br&gt; beginning it worked for you for a long time. So what could be another &lt;br&gt; explanation of the &#39;undefined&#39;? My guess is that you installed

  Hi, &lt;br&gt; I&#39;ve been using Firebug for quite a couple of years on and off for js &lt;br&gt; debugging and dom inspecting, quite a lot. &lt;br&gt; Strangely today the plugin has developed a pretty bad bug. I&#39;m using v &lt;br&gt; 1.4.5. &lt;br&gt; No matter what site I look at, whenever I Inspect a Dom element all &lt;br&gt; markup is shoing with each tag having the work &amp;quot;undefined&amp;quot; in it.

  Since many thousands of users have been successful on many different &lt;br&gt; machines, we have to conclude that there is some problem on your &lt;br&gt; machine. But what that problem might be I cannot say. Perhaps you have &lt;br&gt; an unusual operating system or software that interferes with other &lt;br&gt; software, such as viruses or anti-viruses.

  <title type="text">Errors in script window hidden by long lines of text</title>

  Is there any way to configure Firebug so that script errors are &lt;br&gt; visible even when the line of code that they refer to is very long? I &lt;br&gt; often find that I can&#39;t read the error message because it is obscured &lt;br&gt; by the code itself.

  I guess this maybe related to our work to turn off the javascript &lt;br&gt; debugger API when you are not debugging a web page. If so the reason &lt;br&gt; we have a hard time reproducing it would be things like the number of &lt;br&gt; tabs, windows, and which ones are using Firebug. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Be on the look out for the circumstances that cause it to happen/not
