hi - i was going to do the 45 miles from lizard to lands end, i have
never done anything like that before so in february i decided to do
the route over two days to see what it was like
i did it with my brother-in-law who has done a 50 mile race before
(Mont Blanc) - we did 25 miles on the 1st day in 6hrs 20mins and 20
miles on the 2nd day in 5hrs and 30mins - there was a total ascent of
13,501 feet and descent of 13,290 feet
it was hard work but good fun, however, i decided after the
experience that i was not prepared to put in the training that i would
need to do to be able to complete the race in one day
note - the ground in feb was quite boggy in places which did slow us
down
in answer to your question, yes it is doable if you are prepared to do
the training
see this page for possible training plan

you need more advice than this as i dont really have any experience of
ultra running
good luck
paul
