I found the hip pack thing terribly irritating as it moved around
because of that I would imagine it chafes more over longer distances (i don't know though because I only ran once with a hip/bum bag pack and hated it with such a passion I got rid). On the back pack thing though, I think there are better and worse back
Like most running/technical kit there is an element of you get what
That's my thoughts anyway for what it's worth.
