Subject: Re: The Classic Quarter??
im new to this group, and am keen to do the solo version of the
quarter, however not until 2009....cant muster the training this year.
I have done marathons, and the winter tough guy, and i think that for
this you will need to get your max training run up to about 30 (if
solo) - i think the key is more training to spend a silly amount of
time on your feet - maybe 8 hours, and then develping coping and
eating strategies. I cant see that energy gels and drinks will be too
good for you for that duration. I know i would need proper sustinace
ala Karnezes Pizza!! There is a good training programme for a 50 miler
on runnersworld.com (the american site, much better that the UK one.)
maybe worth using.
