Subject: Get a ONEt with Linux and 3G and Java installed
Again, not quite. But Maplin have a "DataWind UbiSurfer" for sale at:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?moduleno=261613 (currently out of
stock) for £149.99 which looks remarkably like the faithful old Elonex
ONEt with 1 gigabyte of Flash memory - but with a 3G Vodafone wireless
card fitted and set up.

The price includes a 12-month contract with Vodafone and 30 hours of
connect time per month (enough to do your emails at least) - and the
draft manual suggests that it includes an implementation of Java - but
otherwise the software looks remarkably like that on the ONEt.

The fact that it's currently out of stock, was only launched a few
days ago and the manual looks like it's a draft suggests that this
product is not quite "out in the wild" yet - but if you have got one
please feel free to contradict me - and tell us what the machine is
like.

Ed
