It has only 128MB ram so any photoediting and such will be problematic. The processor used in the Elonex is an Jz4730 from Ingenic which is MIPS compatible (not Intel or AMD) which means you can not simply install another OS unless it is specifically made for this processor and hardware.

  Gert, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Many thanks for your response. I found out how to make things happen at &lt;br&gt; boot. I added the following line to the script /etc/init.d/rcS: &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;echo 1 &amp;gt; /proc/jz/iwifi &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Once I did that and rebooted, the wifi sprang into life and furthermore it &lt;br&gt; also automatically connected to my preferred network.

  assuming you have terminal opened, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;*dd if=/dev/zero of=/path_to_swapfile bs=1024 count=SIZE* &lt;br&gt; where /path_to_swapfile will probably be a path to a file which you will be &lt;br&gt; creating on the SD card. &lt;br&gt; and SIZE=size in MegaBytes &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I do not have my OneT right now with me or else i could be more specific.

  Although you may be able to enable the swap, i would recommend not to as the &lt;br&gt; Storage on the OneTs are flash memories and these may wear out too early due &lt;br&gt; to tremendous writing.
