Simple answer - no.

More complicated answer - Maplin do a Windows CE version of this
machine - see http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?moduleno=257308 - it
has a few key differences from the ONEt - for example on the hardware
front it has 4 gigabytes of Flash memory (it probably needs that to
hold Windows CE and give you some space left to play) - on the
software front it claims support for YouTube videos (and this seems to
be about the only way you'll get those on this type of machine).

There now seem to be a variety of machines built around the same basic
screen and keyboard - Maplin also have the Ubisurfer - see
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?moduleno=261613 - which uses GPRS
mobile technology and a technique where your Internet pages are formed
on a remote server and then sent to the laptop as compressed graphics
to allow access to a wider range of web pages - but that doesn't cope
with streaming video or audio unfortunately...

Anyway, they are both interesting solutions to what you can do on this
size (memory/processor speed) of machine.

Have fun, Ed

The Windows CE version from Maplin is not the same Hardware specs as the
ONEt. The processors are of two different Architecture. The ONEt is a Mipsel
and the Maplin is an ARM.

Hi Mike,

What you can do though, is replace the current linux installation with
one of the ones that enthusiasts have put together on the various forums
to do with the onet and other "little linux laptops". The most complete
at the moment seems to be the 3MX distribution. It gives you lots of
games (Doom, lincity etc), videoonline (for youtube and other video
sites), lots of web radio, a better browser, lots of IM clients, java,
and some more support for videos, but mostly just more user friendly and
maybe a step closer to being a proper netbook.

http://3mx.taita.co.uk/

http://linuxlaptopforum.ark2webdesign.co.uk/index.php/topic,630.0.html

But due to how techy these forums can be, you may be best pointing a
linux enthusiast, or just computer enthusiast friend, over to it and
letting them do the dirty work of upgrading.

Ale
