Invitation to view community's Picasa Web Album - Citizen workshop

CHI (Community Helps itself) is working with a group of young people to
develop an interactive map of the Butetown area. CHI were asked by Butetown
Youth Pavilion to deliver an art based project to a group of young people
from Butetown. They decided to base the project around media and citizen

Development of Butetown.org

I had a very productive meeting with Tom and Carl from Native HQ,
where we discussed how Butetown.org can be improved. At the moment
the .org site is down, although the ning site is still active. Partly
due to a lack of resources, partly due to commitment to other work
project butetown.org has been neglected of late.

Report on Digital Butetown, Event III, St David's Hall, October 9th, 2009

Hi there - Here's a formal short report on the event that took place
in Cardiff last week by Tom Beardshaw and me and posted at
fitzalan.pbworks.com - the wiki set up by students of Fitzalan High
School at the session. Stills are available at the pbworks site but
I'll put a set on Flickr soon, should you want to see some pics.

On Friday, October 9th, Tom Beardshaw and Carl Morris are to run a
workshop at The Old Library, Cardfiff City Centre for:

- Up to 26 x 16-18yr olds from Fitzalan School, studying AS Level
Media.

- A small group of administrators and creatives linked to [link]

This event will be as much as 'needs analysis' as an in-depth 'media

Hi there!

The bigger event can't happen yet - there needs to be a bit more
development on the stake and shareholder front and also more
development of the strategic context that would provide opportunities
for effective legacy. Also, the date of an opportunity to discuss an
event with the community collegiately has had to be delayed.

Oct 9th sounds like an excellent event. Don't forget to see if Iain Tweedale can offer someone from his team to help with / do a workshop.
Re the ideas you posted. Yes - we at BBC Wales would certainly be up for looking at how we might work together on / contribute to those - 1 and 2 are particularly interesting. Shall we talk about that when you come in.

telephone conversation about what might be a next stage of Digital
Butetown, feeding off the ideas raised at the event at the end of
July.

The main purpose of this project is to develop and deliver a programme
that enables people to use/exploit online social media for the benefit
of their community, should they want/need to.

But it might be worth throwing in to the pot the possible template of
a larger digital initiative that fed off the back of Gavin's post

various stake/shareholders in digital engagement in Wales, including
the Welsh Assembly, OFCOM Wales and the George Ewart Centre for
