Have just joined this group & spotted your post.
I am in the process of restoring a 1970 BarOmix powerbarow which we
have owned for the best part of 30 years but has been laid up for the
last 10. This one has a 4 HP briggs & Stratton which I have overhauled
& fitted electronic ignition. It is missing the tension pulley & shaft

hi jim thanks for info have looked at pic you said and yes is very
similar have posted jpeg you can see that it has something missing and
the wrong spring as for tyres all the stops are good have no play
right though steering now but still about half inch from hitting the
stops one tyre has cut into steering arm quite bad had to weld up .i

My posts usually relate to my new (to me) Powerfab digger but I can't
help wondering about the Rapier Crane.
Has it been saved or has it been scrapped?

Thanks for joining the group and uploading a picture of your dumper.

This ticking over problem has come up before but that was on a Petter
PH1. The AVA1 and PH1 are very similar engines. It is usually a spring
missing which causes the problem. The following link takes you to a
picture of a PH1 but it might help you work it out

hi all i have just posted a picture of my new perchase i have been
told that it is a benford dumper can anybody tell me if this is right.
it has a petter ava1 engine that is very good starts very easy and
runs well but does not tick over very slow it looks as there might be
some springs missing and some been put in the wrong places in the

Thanks for the tip about the filler cap. No problems really just
"bijou problemettes", nothing serious. I am actually delighted with
the condition of the machine and a friend with a Kubota 1.5 Tonnes
says that it is in far better condition than his. It is now in one of
the barns for the winter and the real clearance project will begin

Just an update to those who might be interested. I now have my
Powerfab 125 digger at my campsite in central France having collected
it from Looe in Cornwall in a LWB transit van. The total journey was
just over 1,600 miles and I left on Tuesday and arrived home on

Hi,
I have just aquired a Barford 1 tonne dumper truck with a Petter PH1
engine. The engine serial number is 143557, can anyone help with the
age of the engine? The dumper has a badge which states its a Barford,
machine number 2699, Type 75- BDN PFP. Would the original colour be
orange with a yellow engine. Any help on information for me to restore

I will check out the site. Appreciate the info thanks. I have looked
at a few new and second hand splitters (Ebay etc), and you are right,
buying the bits and assembling a home made job will not be cheap and
the cheapest option would probably be to buy one. However i have
invested in some half decent tools over the years and get a real kick

Candig as there are also commercially available plans from the same
people who offer towable digger plans.

Hi.

I am thinking of building rather than buying a log splitter. Has
anyone on the site already made one and would you be prepared to pass
on your knowledge/experience?

I am particularly interested in the size of pump required. I have
noticed cc per rev quoted instead of litres or gallons per minute.
