The Congleton Cycling Campaign's annual ride to foray for fungi is on Sunday 9th September, meeting at 10.30am by the bowling green in Congleton Park. Then a pedal out along the lanes to the woods in the country park, where last year we found all sorts of interesting and edible fungi with the help of our knowledgeable guide Olga.
Olga is not too sure whether she can come with us this time. If not then we'll concentrate on the social ride and identifying any fungi we find. To be on the safe side, we won't be bringing anything home to eat!
We'll cycle to and from the country park via national route 55 and local route 71, calling at the Bluebell Inn in Smallwood on the return. Bring waterproofs, a snack and a bag for any fungi you collect. Olga won't know until Sunday whether she'll be able to join us.
