We are a local group of the CTC based in Witney. We range in age from 14 to 70+, we’re not a racing team but we do like to get a few miles in. We ride all manner of machines: MTBs, hybrids, tourers, racers, even a tricycle. The CTC is Britain’s national cycling organisation - see www.ctc.org.uk.

Hi Jon, if you are still short of leaders I can do Sat.12/12 (possibly with a slightly earlier start time) and Sun.21/2 if required.

Regards, Chris.

______________________________ ______________________________ _____
Use Hotmail to send and receive mail from your different email accounts

I looked in on the Daylesford in the summer with a view to adding it to the
café guide but decided perhaps they might not always be pleased to see a
bunch of hot and sweaty cyclists! Looking forward to it. Need the exercise.

I had some time to kill in the Kingham area yesterday and despite the
wind and the drizzle I quite enjoyed squelching through the leaf
litter, up hill, down dale, around Cornwell and Chastleton.

Stopped in at Daylesford. It's gone even more up market. However, free

Sunday weather is going to be windy, probably cloudy, but hopefully
dry. I'm planning a flat upwind dash to Lechlade, then cross wind to
Uffington, and down wind home. Around 50 miles with 2 stops.

Bad weather alternative will be shorter and more sheltered. Note to
9:30 am start time.

Cheers

I've been hoodwinked into riding to London for the climate protest on
Dec 5th. We'll be riding in on the Friday, staying in Islington on
Friday and Saturday nights, and making our way back Sunday. (Well most
of them will, I'm going to Roehampton for a Limbless Association AGM
and returning Monday).

Yes, but what were we thinking of ? I turned up on time to find Paul waiting for me and, almost his first words were "I'm quite happy to go home if you don't fancy riding". Well, we should have quit then because next to arrive was Neil, shortly followed by Kevin. Neil said he had cycled every day that week and it had rained, so what was different about Saturday ? Kevin was also "up for it". After a brief discussion we decided on a short run over to Aston for refreshments, then home for lunch. To show they meant business, Neil put on what looked like a waterproof masonic apron and Kevin called in at home to put on his tinted cycling specs ! So, cycling into a gale force wind with the rain stinging our faces we ploughed on over to Aston, where we sat in wet clothes and enjoyed our refreshments, except Paul, who had been eyeing up the last jumbo sausage roll, only to have it snatched away from him by a large lady with sharp elbows. We thought the return leg would be better as the wind would be behind us but, if anything, the rain got worse so we were soaked back and front ! Still, I have to say that it was a memorable morning, in good company, but next time the weather forecast says gale force winds and lashing rain I might think twice before venturing out !
