Particularly those who nominated Pic_Index - but could we have it spelt
correctly, please? It contains an underscore!

Zap was missing - as was David Pilling - so I postponed my vote.
Any other serious mistakes?

Am I missing something here?  The nominations were open for anyone to
contribute, so is Zap and David Pilling were "missing", that's presumably
because no-one (including yourself) bothered to nominate them.

I see it now contains a space - don't underscores work in HTML? They seem
to on the Pic_Index site?

I know they don't work on domains - hence the URL - but surely Drobe could
(eventually) get it right?

I know I ain't gonna win - my users are task-oriented. But couldn't we just
get the name right?

Please?

Ah ha! The magic word. There's now an underscore.

Also, elsewhere in the thread some people have complained that their
favourite author or application wasn't shortlisted. As Steve, csa.*'s
voice of reason, has pointed out - everyone had a chance to nominate
their favourite people and apps. I'm sorry if you didn't get the chance
to login and nominate (or email in your choices), but hopefully now
you'll find the time to vote on the shortlist.

Season's greetings,

Chris.

Can one not rely on Drobe to correct mis-reportings /without/ a pleading?

Surely a simple correction should suffice!

What did you mis-understand about my original correction?

Or is this just a semi-humorous obfuscation excusing incompetence?

And should I look forward to this quote appearing on Drobe as a 'quote'?

And BTW, shouldn't that have been 'Aha!'?

'Ah ha!' is two words!

Lots of questions to answer!

Compliments of the season!

Or, if you're expecting something more, complements of the season! But
don't hold your breath!

Go look again. RISC OS Now is listed! There is no need for a specific
Louie Smith entry .

Thats for the magazine, not for the person behind it. Louie is what we've
been crying out for on this platform - new blood - and is far more deserving
of a nomination than I am. She's set up, edited and published a brand new
magazine all in her spare time, all I've done this year is learn to fly.

I would be among the first to praise David Pilling's contribution to
RISC OS over the years.  However, these are the 2006 awards, and, to
the regret of all of us, DP hasn't done anything new for RISC OS for
a long time now.

Development of Zap, which I dearly love and use as my only editor,
also seems to have ground to a halt, which would seem to disqualify
it from a 2006 award.

Dave

With an interest in new blood and flying, I have to ask, are you a

I don't think that's quite true, but it hasn't trickled down to a
stable release. It's been mentioned on the zap list that such a list
might be on the cards...
