Just before ripping my R260 to bits, in order to swap out the
alarmingly crusty battery, and replace the SCSI drive with compact-
flash (via a SCSI-IDE, and IDE-CF adaptor), I figured I should recover
the CMOS settings to disc, so I'd be able to get RISC iX booting
easily again...
And of course it won't start. Admittedly it hasn't been used a great

The smoke has finally escaped from my Canon pixma ip4000.
It never worked properly with the Iyo - streaky prints and even colour
substitution with !Draw - (although it did well from XP) but I don't
think I've had my moneys-worth.
I like taking photos and want to replace the thing with something of
good quality. Hi,
Posted before - but thought I'd check again if anyone has a spare
Eurocard
rack (of any kind). This could be just a backplane, or a Eurocard box
without
a rack, anything really.
I'm trying to re-case an expanded Acorn Atom system, that has several
cards
hanging of a 'ribbon cable' backplane and its not great, something a

Are all RISCOS developments now beind made through
emulator?
Which site has the answers to this?
Thanks

I'm trying to find more space in my crowded office.
I think that when I bought it in 1997, using the RiscPC in tower
mode, as I think of it - ie sitting on its side - was an option.
There may even have been special feet provided.
Sometime since, in an earlier search for more space, I was
advised by someone who seemed to be an expert not to try to

 Hi,
I have a RPC running RO 4.39 Adjust which is soon to go to a new home,
and I'd like to reformat the HD before it goes to its new owner. Only
problem is, I can't!
I've copied !HForm to floppy and booted off it (shift-boot). Then run
it as *!hform. Although it runs, it fails to format the disc. I started working through all my stored computers to remove all the CMOS
batteries. Before doing so, I decided to check they all worked still.
All of them did, except the A4. I recently obtained a set of RO4.03 ROMs (previously installed in an
R7500) with a view to upgrading the OS in a RiscPC, however, with
these ROMs installed, all that appears on screen is a cursor at top-
left.
My question is then - are these ROMs intrinsically unsuited to
installation in a RiscPC or are they duff? Also, if the former, why

I dragged out my Risc PC's quadrature mouse today. When I put it away it
was having a quaking fit - the point would jitter slightly when the roller
for each direction was spun, but not actually move. I've now fixed it, and
here are some tips I worked out on the way...
Firstly, if you have any other old Logitech mechanical mice, the insides are

Free - Marconi Tracker Ball for Acorn M/Cs

 Hi,
I have a Marconi "Marcus" Tracker Ball, model RB2, with connector for the
mouse port of Archimedes / Axxxx / RISC PC computers.
It is large and substantial for a trackball, intended for long term
sustained use, and is a three button version. It is virtually unused.
Free to a good home, for the cost of postage (under a fiver I guess).

Really a hardware issue. FUs setup.
Well, I don't really print from RISC OS these days, but I have this
too, and it seems upset - multiple power cycles before it will come
up without flashing amber. I've tried suggested resets, and I see
references to cleaning out the waste ink counter:
[link]

Iyonix not starting up

Today I was working on my Iyonix which is slightly more than one year old. I
was working normaly and then restarted the computer at one point but it did
not start anymore.
I think it might have to do with the graphics card or the HD. If I start the
computer there is absolutely nothing on the monitor, it does not even leave
