Can I suggest one other thing? When you start mucking around, first pull
the SCSI card (if it wasn't onboard - can't remember) and unplug the HD
power and data. You don't want to put it through more powerup/down cycles
than necessary.
Have you thought about imaging the SCSI drive on another machine (eg Linux),

Sometimes
it's not obvious, either - the corrosion nukes the trace even when it
might look visually OK, and the affected area can be quite large. Checking
continuity's the only way to be sure, really (you can probably get away
with bridging damaged sections though, although visually it won't look

I don't think it can be driven directly from RO but
it's great from Linux and Windows and I wouldn't fancy printing a 12MP
photo from RO anyway. Knowing Epson though, newer machines
will give better quality.Photo real is really good.
Friends don't tell friends 'Use Windows'

The smoke has finally escaped from my Canon pixma ip4000.
It never worked properly with the Iyo - streaky prints and even colour
substitution with !Draw - (although it did well from XP) but I don't
think I've had my moneys-worth.
I like taking photos and want to replace the thing with something of
good quality. I'm guessing, but it's quite possible that these podules are controlled over
I2C. So, if you can't find the original software, it would only need a line
or two of BASIC to control the vital parameters (frequency, volume, etc).
It would just need a few calls to SYS "IIC_Control".
Theo
