Subject: Cataclysm instructions
I recently went back and finished the last level of Cataclysm after a
short 10 year break.   I cant find anything about changing the players
name in the instruction manual.  I know I can't change scores already
saved but I want any other new scores to be in my name.  Does anyone
know how to change the player name?

I believe when you get a new highscore, you can edit the name at that
point (using delete/backspace or something). Might be wrong.

Alex.

At last it comes back to me: we made individual copies of disc 1 so
that my poor scores did not drag down my son's achievements. We
never found a reset name or reset score option. It was our main
criticism of the game. I suppose I could provide a clean copy of
disc 1 without breaking copyright?  My email is in the sig.

Has anyone found a way of putting the game onto a hard disc?

Joyce.

Since it's on one of the APDL/4D Games Collection CDs obviously yes, it can
now be installed on a hard disc.

Sorry, that's *disc 2* and since APDL supplies Cataclysm I won't.

Right! The Adventure Games CD - not where I would have looked first
but WTH :-) All Strong Arm compatible too! The cheque will be in
the post.

Joyce.

When it comes up with a name, press delete repeatedly, then type in
the name you want to see.

Joyce (kicking herself).

ISTR that disk 2 had the score files on, my copy had an install
program on disk 1 which copied the lot to a hdd, you had to put disk1
into the system when you ran it off this as a keydisk, but then
everything else ran off the HDD - much faster.

The only game this just didn't work on was Nevryon, but I think they
updated the games after around 94 or sometime around then, as I had an
older set of games which couldn't be installed on HDD, but my friend
had the same games which had the install program etc.

Andrew.
