Not sure if Colin reads the newsgroups but the game in question from TEQ seems to be The Dungeon from 4th Dimension. Getting it is another matter although Liquid Silicon appeared in a Google search. The correspondent calls it an adventure game but his description (e.g. giant spiders) recalls the screenshots of that game.

Dungeon is one of the 4D games which has yet to appear on an APDL games CD for whatever reason, a RISC OS 4/StrongARM compatible version does exist too, I got one from 4D years ago. Other ones gone missing are Sylvia Layne, Carnage Inc, maybe a few more i've forgotten plus the really useful Arcticulate and art program ARCtist.

Andrew- yes I occasionally lurk here while avoiding OU assignments!
Thanks for the info- its been bugging me as I'm almost sure I had a demo which matched the description but coudn't find it on any of the disks lurking in my office.
Will pass the info on in the next Quill! (if thats ok?)

I was warned not to bother you because you were working! ;-)

If you find room. I've forwarded 4 or 5 mails to you today!
BTW Does this mean you've finished that assignment?...

Yes that's fine. Anybody got any decent screenshots?

Most screenshots are likely to be embarrassing rather than decent due to the unfortunate use of scaling bitmaps up when the monsters get nearer. The bitmaps weren't brilliant to start with but it was the nearest we were likely to get to Dungeon Master or similar.

The texture mapping and depth grading (or whatever the term is) was quite impressive and better than Wolfenstein and Doom IIRC, which it preceeded (and was an original not a conversion).
