Subject: Music Ripper's Toolkit release 2
The second release of the Music Ripper's Toolkit has been disseminated,
and is currently located at:

http://www.starfighter.acornarcade.com/mysite/download/mrtools.zip

The Music Ripper's Toolkit is a collection of programs designed to
convert from and to various esoteric and/or obsolete music formats, as
well as perform other miscellaneous functions such as decompression.
Its principal raison d'etre is to extract music from games and demos
and, where necessary, convert it to a format playable in a tracker
player such as DigitalCD.

Documentation is supplied for all known music formats (including some
distinctly strange ones such as Andy Southgate's BodgeMusic, from
Asylum, and Fednet's creation for Star Fighter 3000) and instructions
are provided for ripping all the games and demos I have so far
successfully used the toolkit with.  New to this release are some
helpful instructions on what exactly the 'speed' and 'tempo' values
mean.

A selection of games and demos I have successfully ripped are:

Asylum
Flashback
Star Fighter 3000
Inferno
JoJo
Phonology
Xtreme
Blu
Era
Super Methane Brothers

In addition, converters which weren't in the previous release are now
available for PacMania, Cycloids and the Music Dump format used in Hedz
(and possibly some other games).  (The latter can be played by
!TrackPlay, but to the best of my knowledge, nothing else, and no
format specification exists.)
